I hope everyone had a good time at annual dinner last night, and I would like to say thanks to our social secretaries for organising such a good event.

It is however coming to the end of term and as such I'm sure many of you are ready to have a break, from work at least. With Trinity coming soon however it is time for outdoor season to start and as such, I must stress how important it is to train over the vac and especially to try an have a go at the longer outdoor distances.

Stay tuned for more information on BUTC, the last couple of years it has been streamed live, so prepare to cheer on your teammates from afar!

2nd week HT15 Notices

Hi all,

It's good to see so many people shooting especially novices who are eager to get back into it. also congratulations to those who went to Grudge match and thoroughly crushing the Tabs.

On this note, we would like to openly invite novices to be considered for our novice squad system, some novices are already involved with this and it is designed to allow those who want to have a greater commitment and enthusiasm for competing. Anyone interested in squad please let myself or any experienced archers at your sessions know; this really is great opportunity to go to competitions and represent Oxford at a very high level, therefore we are looking for keen and committed novices to come forward.

I am also aware that many people are looking to buy equipment for themselves, which I would thoroughly encourage, although I will ask anyone considering buying any equipment please ask myself or other experienced members about what is best and suitable to buy, especially as we don't want you spending too much money on equipment to start with.

Hi all,

I am glad to see lots of people already getting into the swing of things, and I hope everyone's collections, deadlines, reviews Vivas, general nothingness went well during 0th week, as such the normal timetable of sessions resumes this week.

Novices may be aware that we no longer have specific novice sessions anymore, this is because we now expect you to be capable of shooting with the rest of the club without needing specific 1 on 1 tuition, this however does not mean that you will not receive any help and coaching as all experienced archers are more than willing to help answer questions or coach to some degree. So any novices needing any help please feel free to ask, though do be mindful that this is a particularly busy term for our teams and the experienced archers need to do a lot of training themselves. We also expect you to know where the bow are and to be able to set them up properly and safely to shoot and be comfortable setting up the range. I would advise therefore that anyone who is not entirely certain or may have forgotten over the holidays how to set things up turns up to the tuesday, thursday or friday sessions for the first week or so just to refresh.
